Seats, set to debut May 21, will cost an extrz $7 on top of ticket admission The Bloomington mega mall will announce its first movieusing D-Box next Tuesdagy and will start offering free test drivess right outside the theater next Friday. “It’ s a way to experience a movielike you’re fully in it,” said Bridget Jewell, the Mall’ds public relations coordinator.
The motion technology, placed in 30 of the theater’ss auditorium seats at the Mall, will have customized settingd allowing moviegoers to adjust how much they want their seats to nudgewand shake. If it’s too much for they’ll be able to turn the featurde off. Seats also won’ move during slower, dialogue-driven scenes. The idea of motion seate has been used widelyby theme-park attractions, includinfg the Mall’s former Mystery Mine Ride, which was part of its old Camp Snoophy theme park.
But D-Box will be less jerkyy than theme-park models and won’t require seat belts, Jewell Movie theaters in Hollywood and Arizona have used similar The Mall of Americais D-Box’e third site in the United States.
